The 88 Buddha Image in the Sacred Places

It is said that Kuobou Taishi founded sacred places in Shikoku to eliminate calamities for himself and for people when Koubou Taishi was forty two in 815, each history of the offices of those sacred places also says that each places was founded during Kojin era. Believing in the Taishi became popular after he died, a lot of Shingon priests began traveling around the places related with the Taishi in Heian era, the eighty eight sacred places in Shikoku has been visited by a lot of people as the places for training. They are the curved principal images of Buddha of the eighty eight sacred places.
